Party Rules serve as the foundation of Party activity, guiding all levels of the Party’s
operation. The Rules are adopted biennially at the State Convention.
 
Proposed BCDP Rules Changes for October 9, 2012

The above file contains four (4) proposed changes to the Continuing Rules of
the Bexar County Democratic Party, presented at the CEC meeting of
September 11, 2012 and to be voted upon at the October 9, 2012 meeting of the same body.
 
Temporary Party Rules Changes For 2012
Having considered the matter of dates in the Continuing Rules of the BCDP which assumed the normal schedule of elections and do not fit the schedule of 2012 primary elections prescribed by the federal courts, the Rules Committee proposed the following changes, which were unanimously adopted by the County Executive Committee on May 1, 2012, and would apply from the first meeting of the new CEC on Tuesday, August 21, 2012:
  1. These year 2012 amendments are temporary and expire at the end of 2012.
  2. The newly elected CEC shall elect a Treasurer in its first meeting, to take office immediately.
  3. In the newly elected CEC's first meeting it shall vote to ratify the continuing rules, and shall elect officers (secretary, treasurer, and deputy chairs).
  4. The newly elected CEC in its first meeting shall review and ratify the interim budget set by the outgoing CEC. It shall consider a proposed budget.
  5. A budget proposed in the CEC's first meeting shall be adopted after review by the CEC, in the new CEC's second meeting.
  6. An orientation for precinct chairs shall be held in August.
