25th SD Convention Directions

The Bexar County 25th Senatorial District 2008 convention will be at San Antonio’s Municipal Auditorium, 100 Auditorium Circle, on the north side of downtown.

Sign-in and credentialing will begin at 8:30AM and I expect to call the convention to order for business at 2PM Saturday March 29th.  Both delegates and alternates will sign in and will receive credentials.  So if you don't want to stand in a 2,000 person line, come early and encourage your friends to do the same.

Know your precinct number, and / or bring your voter registration card.   Sign in is by precinct number, and it will not be practical to research your precinct based on your name.

If you have Internet access, you can bring the location up on Mapquest.   It is between Broadway and Navarro streets, south of 4th Street and north of the Korean and Vietnam war memorials.

The auditorium has no parking garage.  It was built before most people had cars.  So leave extra time to park.  Parking is available in the neighboring blocks, for instance at the 1st Baptist church to the NE, and a couple of blocks to the west in the city parking garage, but it's definitely not free.  Delegates should consider both car pooling and using the bus.

Bus routes 3 and 4 coming south on San Pedro pass two blocks to the west on St. Mary’s street at Convent street.  (For going home, the northbound trips stop on Navarro Street next to the auditorium.)

Bus routes 9, 10, and 14 come down Broadway and it would be convenient to use the stop at Broadway and 4th.

For more bus information see the trip planner and interactive map on www.viainfo.net.

I don't yet have details on the food vendors.  Several food vendors have contracts with the city, so we aren't free to choose our own. The Party office is handling this.   Diabetics should bring something.

Delegates to SD25 will be seated on the main floor.  We will have reserved seating marked by precinct.  This will enable the precinct delegations and the paired precincts to find each other, which is absolutely necessary to conduct the business of the convention.  Most delegates will be in the center, and  alternates will sit on the sides or in the balcony.
